Hey there!
It’s Elena and Teah; the founders of FED Up: The Movement! We are a Brisbane-based teen initiative focused on educating and inspiring our youth on current environmental topics. We feel that the stereotype that labels our generation as oblivious to wider world issues, restricts us from fulfilling our true potential. We are here to change that.
Education + Awareness = change. It’s that simple.
Elena Bontempi, co-founder of FED, is a 17 year old passionate about altering people’s mindsets. Elena believes that encouraging people to think for themselves rather than blindly conforming to the norm of society is what we need in order to create change. Approaching life with optimism and care for your fellow species, animals and humans alike, is key in preventing the exploitation of innocent beings, which is all too common in society today. Teenagers are able to make a change and as long as we are passionate and dedicated to our cause, our voices will be heard.
Teah Hammet, the founder of FED, is a 17 year old dancer from Brisbane who has become increasingly interested in renewable energy, sustainable practices involving water and the flaws of our most profitable corporations, especially the clothing and agriculture industries. Teah believes that in order to influence our current generation of teenagers, education and awareness are key. Our current leaders need to wake up to the reality of the future; if we don’t act now and choose the planet over greed for money and power, the current generation of teenagers will face a dystopia beyond comprehension. The planet is in our hands and it is vital that we change our ways now.
